TAG was awesome! They had some adventurous choices like kangaroo loin and duck empanadas. Michael said the empanadas were his favorite course of the evening. Mine was the bison spare ribs with sweet potato puree! For dessert, Michael got the white chocolate bread pudding and I got the Nutella semi-freddo (also heavenly!) I loved how it had a black pepper crust that blended in with the very rich chocolate....and the raspberry lemongrass ice cream was delightful. I recommend TAG to anyone that hasn't been there yet. Their sushi tacos are a must try, as well!
Next up was Vesta's Dipping Grill, which is our favorite restaurant to visit year-round! I love the food and the atmosphere. They start their dinner in an unusual way, with roasted garlic and Udi’s Filone Bread. I have got to learn how they roast their garlic!!!!
They also paired a shot of their Truffled Potato Soup with our starter. |
Vesta has been voted as one of the "Top 25 Restaurants in Denver" by 5280 magazine and has appeared on the Food Network including Rachel Ray’s “Tasty Travels” in May of 2006. This may have to do a lot with their choices of dipping sauces. They have several to choose from, but I have always gone with their recommendations...and never be disappointed.
For dessert, Michael went with the red velvet cake with lemon sorbet (which was pink like my red velvet...Yay!) and I had their chocolate opera cake with espresso ice cream! Tonight we are off to Texas de Brazil with Ma and Pa Bruce...another restaurant week favorite!
